Information varis by model. Video displayed is for model SR-GA721F. For specific model information refer to the model specific operating instructions.
- Make sure the rice is rinsed thoroughly before cooking. Excess starch can lead to sticking and crust buildup.
- Not enough water can cause the rice to stick or crust inside the pan.
Confirm that the correct amount of water is being used for the rice type you are cooking. Measure rice with the measuring cup provided. One cup of uncooked rice makes approximately 3 cups of cooked rice by volume.
place rinsed rice in the pan. Add water according to the following standard.Water to Rice ratio Table SR-GA421 Using the markings on the pan Using the SUPPLIED measuring cup e.g. To cook 15 cups of rice, rinse the rice, put it into the pan and then add water to LEVEL INDICATOR 15.

Raw rice by cup---Water to be added 23 cups------------23-23 1/4 cups
20 cups------------20-20 1/4 cups
15 cups------------15-15 1/4 cups
10 cups------------10-10 1/4 cups
05 cups------------5-5 1/4 cups - Check that the inner pan is seated flat and correctly inside the cooker. An uneven pan may cause hot spots that lead to crusting.

- Verify that the cooker is on a stable, level surface to ensure even heating during the cook cycle.

- Inspect the heating plate and bottom of the pan for debris or residue. Any particles can interfere with proper heat transfer and cause crusting.

- Ensure you are not using oils, butter, or seasonings that may burn onto the pan during cooking.
- After each use, soak the pan in warm water to loosen any hardened rice before cleaning. Do not use abrasive scrubbers that can damage the nonstick coating.
- If crusting continues, perform a test cook using only water to confirm the cooker is heating evenly.
- If the issue persists, inspect the inner pan for damage or worn coating, as this can increase sticking and crust formation.
