How to connect a DVD player to a television.
There are several different ways to connect a DVD player to a television. The way you connect depends on the available outputs on your DVD player.
HDMI cable (Recommended)
An HDMI connection is required for HD digital connection.
- Connect HDMI OUT on the DVD player to HDMI IN on the TV.
- After the connection is made, put the TV in HDMI Video mode by pressing the [TV/Video] button on the remote control.
- Select the HDMI Input that the player is plugged into on the TV and press [OK].
Component cable
- Connect the DVD player Component (red, green, blue) OUT to the televisions Component Video INPUT. Green into "Y", Blue into "PB" and Red into "PR".
- Component also needs an audio connection. Connect an Audio (red, white) cable to the Audio OUT on the DVD player to the televisions Component Audio input.
- After connection is made, put the TV in Component Video mode by pressing the [TV/Video] button on the remote control.
Composite cable
- Connect on the DVD player Composite (Yellow, White and Red) OUT to the televisions Composite Video INPUT. Yellow with yellow "Video", White with "L" and Red with "R".
- After the connection is made, put the TV in Video Input by pressing the [TV/Video] button on the remote control and selecting between "Video 1", "Video 2", or "Video 3" depending which video input the cables are plugged in and press [OK].
