How to turn off the answering machines call screening feature. (Stop messages from being announced out loud.)

This feature allows you to monitor a message from the handset's speaker when the answering system is recording a message. The default setting is "On".

To turn this feature off

For single line telephones

1. Press [ MENU # 3 1 0 ].
2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to to select " OFF ".
3. Press [ SAVE ].
4. Proceed with the operation for your unit. press [ OFF ] or [ EXIT ]

For models that have call screening on the base unit as well as the handset, to turn off call screening on the base (using a handset):

1. Press [ MENU # * 3 1 0 ].
2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to to select " OFF ".
3. Press [ SAVE ].
4. Press [OFF]

For 2-line telephones

1. For line 1: Press [ MENU # 3 1 0 1 ].
2. For line 2: Press [ MENU # 3 1 0 2 ].
3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select OFF .
4. Press [ SAVE ].

This feature is not available on all models. Operation may vary by model. Refer to feature "Screen Call" in your models Operating Manual for specific procedure.
