How to use the intercom function.

Intercom calls can be made between handsets.

Note

• When paging unit(s), the paged unit(s) beeps for 1 minute.
• If you receive an outside call while talking on the intercom, the interrupt tone sound.
• To finish intercom, press [OFF], To answer the call, press the Call button.

Making an intercom call

On the Handset

1. Press [MENU]
2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select Intercom .
3. Press [SELECT].
4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired unit.
5. Press [SELECT].
6. When you finish talking, press [OFF].

Note:

You can also use the [ INTERCOM ] or [ INT ] soft key, if displayed, to make intercom calls.

Answering an intercom call

1. Press the Call button to answer the page.
2. When you finish talking, press [OFF].

Intercom calls can be made:

• between handsets
• between a handset and the base unit

Note:

When paging unit(s), the paged unit(s) beeps for 1 minute.

• To answer the call with the handset, press [ OFF], then press the talk / call button.
• To answer the call with the base unit, press the speakerphone button 2 times.

   When 2 or more handsets are registered:
   • To page a specific handset, enter the handset number.
   • To page all handsets, press [ 0 ] or wait for a few seconds.
   • To stop paging, press [ INTERCOM ].
2. When you finish talking, press the speakerphone button or [ INTERCOM ].

• In step 1, the following soft key is also available to make an intercom call.
  When a cellular phone is paired: [ MENU ] and [ INT ]. If there is a new message in the Voice Mail or answering system, [ INT ] is not displayed.
  When a cellular phone is not paired: [ INT ]*1

1. Press [INTERCOM].

• You cannot use voice paging if other units are in use
• Voice paging is not available when a range extender (KX-TGA405) is registered to the base unit

1. Press [ INTERCOM ]. When 2 or more handsets are registered to page a specific handset, enter the handset number.To page all handsets, press [ 0 ] or wait for a few seconds.
2. When you finish talking, press the speakerphone button.

   • To answer using the receiver press the call or speakerphone button.
   • To answer using the speakerphone press and hold the call or speakerphone button for a few seconds.
2. When you finish talking, press [OFF].

Making an intercom call on a Handset

1. If only one handset is registered to the base unit, press the[ INTERCOM ] button. The base unit rings automatically.
2. If 2 or more handsets are registered to the base unit, press the [ INTERCOM ] button then press the arrow down ▼ button to select the handset or base unit that is to be called. Press [OK].

Making an intercom call on the Base unit

1. If only one handset is registered to the base unit, press the [ LOCATOR/INTERCOM ] button. The Handset rings automatically.
2. If 2 or more handsets are registered to the base unit, press the [ LOCATOR/INTERCOM ] button then press the arrow down ▼ button to select the handset that is to be called. Press [OK]. Lift the corded handset if needed.

5. When you finish talking, press [OFF].

1. Press [LOCATOR/INTERCOM].
   • All registered handsets ring.
