The commercial rice cooker does not stop operating
If your rice cooker doesn’t stop running or doesn’t automatically switch to the “Keep Warm” or “Off” mode after cooking, the issue may be due to a number of factors including misuse, mechanical failure, or electrical component wear.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
Check Pot Placement
Ensure the inner pan is seated correctly and flat on the heating plate.
If it’s tilted or off-center, the thermostat may not detect temperature changes properly.
Remove and reinsert the pot, then try again. -
Clean the Sensor and Heating Plate
Inspect the bottom of the inner pot and heating element:
Remove any stuck-on food, scorch marks, or water residue.
Clean with a soft cloth—even a grain of rice or water droplet can interfere with sensor contact. -
Do Not Overfill the Cooker
Confirm you're using rice and water within the recommended capacity:
Overfilling can cause continuous boiling, preventing the cooker from reaching a stable cooking temperature.
For model specific refer to your models operating instructions to check your model’scmaximum load instructions. -
Follow Proper Rice-to-Water Ratios table in your specific models operating instructions
Using too much water delays boiling point detection:
Always use the included measuring cup for consistency. -
Avoid Opening the Lid Mid-Cook
Lifting the lid during cooking can release steam, keeping internal temperatures unstable and prolonging cook cycles. -
Let It Finish Naturally
When the rice is done, the thermal sensor will trigger a switch to "Keep Warm."
If the unit keeps cooking beyond this point, proceed to the next section. - Unplug and repug the power cable.
