Common Operational Questions for the Call Block Machine


How to connect / set up


  1. Connect the AC adaptor to the unit by pressing the plug firmly. Connect the AC adaptor to the power outlet.

  2. Remove the telephone cable out of your telephones base.

  3. Insert it into the "LINE IN" connector on the back of the Call Block Button unit.

  4. Connect one end of the provided black cable to the "Phone" connector.
    null

  5. Connect the other end of the black cable to the line connector on the back of the telephone base.
    null

    The Call block button unit is now setup and ready to use.

  6. When an unwanted call comes in you can block it immediately by pressing the "BLOCK CALL" button.

Note for connections

  • The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feel warm during use.)
  • The AC adaptor should be connected to a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet.
  • Do not connect the AC adaptor to a horizontally oriented AC outlet that faces the floor, such as an AC outlet installed on a ceiling or under a table, as the weight of the adaptor may cause it to become disconnected.

Blocking numbers from the caller list


  1. Press [ CALLER LIST ].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry to be blocked.
  3. Press [ BLOCK CALL ].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Yes”.
  5. Press [ OK ].
  6. To exit, press [ EXIT ] 2 times.

Setting the automatic block mode


The unit can block calls by setting the following block mode beforehand.

  • “Unknown” : You can block calls when no phone number is provided, such as private callers or out of area calls.
  • “International” : You can block the international call.
  • “00 prefix” : You can block calls whose phone number starts with "00".

The default setting for each mode is “Off”


  1. Press [ MENU ].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Block Mode".
  3. Press [ OK ].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired block mode (described above).
  5. Press [ OK ].
  6. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired setting.
  7. Press [ OK ].
  8. Press [ EXIT ].

Blocking calls while on the phone


To disconnect the current call and add a phone number to the call block list

You can press the [ BLOCK CALL ] button in the following situations to disconnect the current call and add a phone number to the call block list:

  • When an incoming call is being received
  • When talking on an outside call using external phone

Once a phone number has been added to the call block list, the unit will block calls from that phone number in the future.
  1. Press [ BLOCK CALL ] under the situations shown above.
    • The call block number is stored in the call block list, “CALL BLOCKED” is displayed and announced, and then the call is disconnected.
    • If the Talking Caller ID feature is turned off “CALL BLOCKED” is not announced.

To block calls from your external phone while talking

  1. Press [ # 1 ]
    • If the call has no phone number, the call is blocked but it is not stored in the call block list.
    • Blocked calls are logged in the caller list.

Adding Allow numbers from the caller list


You can allow specific callers to pass through by adding the caller’s phone number to the allow list.


You can store up to 100 phone numbers (14 digits max.).


If the phone number stored in the allow list matches the incoming Caller ID, the ringer indicator flashes green and your external phone rings.


  1. Press the [ CALLER LIST ] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry..
  3. Press [ OK ].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Save Allow list”.
  5. Press [ OK ].
  6. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Yes”.
  7. Press [ OK ].
  8. To exit, press [ EXIT ] 2 times.

Adding Allow numbers by manual entry


You can add the phone number in the allow list from your external phone.


We recommend you operate while checking the unit’s display.


  1. Press the [ MENU ] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Manually save #".
  3. Press [ OK ]
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Save Allow #".
  5. Press [ OK ]
  6. Your external phone:
    • When using cordless phone:
      Press [ TALK ] button.
    • When using corded phone:
      Lift the corded handset.
  7. Press [* * 9 1 # ]
  8. Enter the phone number (14 digits max.)
  9. Press [ # ]
  10. Hang up.

How to view a number on the Allow list


  1. Press the [ MENU ] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Allow List".
  3. Press [ OK ]
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to view the Allow list.
  5. After viewing, Press [ Exit ] 2 times to stop viewing.

How to View / Erase call block numbers


  1. Press the [ BLOCK LIST ] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry.
    • The number of times the entry was blocked is also displayed.
    • After viewing, press [ EXIT ] 2 times to exit.
  3. To erase a number press [ ERASE ].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Yes”.
  5. Press [ OK ].
  6. To exit, press [ EXIT ] 2 times.

How to erase all call block numbers:


  1. Press the [ BLOCK LIST ] button.
  2. Press the [ MENU ] button.
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Erase all".
  4. Press [ OK ].
  5. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Yes”.
  6. Press [ OK ].
  7. To exit, press [ EXIT ].

How to delete a number from the allow list


To erase an allow entry

  1. Press the [ MENU] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Allow List".
  3. Press [ OK ].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry.
  5. Press the [ ERASE button.
  6. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Yes".
  7. Press [ OK ].
  8. Press [ Exit ] 2 times.

To erase all allow entries

  1. Press the [ MENU] button.
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Allow List".
  3. Press [ OK ] 2 times.
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Erase All"
  5. Press [ OK ]
  6. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Yes".
  7. Press [ OK ].
  8. Press [ Exit ].

How to view and erase caller the Caller ID list


This unit is Caller ID compatible. To use Caller ID features, you must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your phone service provider for details.


When an outside call is being received, the caller information is displayed.

Caller information for the last 50 callers is logged in the caller list from the most recent call to the oldest.

  • If the unit cannot receive caller information, the following is displayed:
    • “Out of area”: The caller dials from an area which does not provide a Caller ID service.
    • “Private”: The caller requests not to send caller information.
    • “Long dist.”: The caller makes a long distance call.
  • If the unit is connected to a PBX system, caller information may not be properly received. Contact your PBX supplier.

To view the caller list

  1. Press [ CALLER LIST ]
  2. Press the arrow down ▼ to search from the most recent call, or the arrow up ▲ to search from the oldest call.
  3. To exit, press [ EXIT ] 2 times.

To erase selected caller information

  1. Press [ CALLER LIST ]
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry.
  3. Press [ ERASE ]
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Yes”
  5. Press [ OK ]
  6. To exit, press [ EXIT ] 2 times.
