  1. New Photo Style [LEICA Monochrome]
    • [LEICA Monochrome] is added to [Photo Style].
  2. Compatibility with LUMIX smartphone app "LUMIX Lab"
    • "LUMIX Lab" is now compatible with this model.
  3. Support for the Panasonic XLR microphone adaptor DMW-XLR2
    • DMW-XLR2 has now been supported.
      • 32-bit float audio recording is not available with this model.
  4. 5GHz option added to [Wi-Fi Frequency Bands]
    • [5GHz] option added to [Wi-Fi Frequency Bands] and can be chosen between [2.4GHz].
      • Depending on the region, local regulations, etc. may prohibit you from using the 5GHz frequency band outdoors. If this is the case, when outdoors, connect to the smartphone using [2.4GHz] for the Wi-Fi connection.
  5. Other improvements
    • [REAL TIME LUT] function can be assigned to Fn button.
    • Added a pop-up message when using a Panasonic collapsible lens.
    • Improved operational stability.

  1. Compatible with Frame.io Camera to Cloud
    - By connecting the camera to the internet via Wi-Fi, you can upload still images and proxy videos directly to the Frame.io platform.
    * This does not guarantee all of the functions of "Frame.io Camera to Cloud".
  2. [Proxy Recording] function has been added
    - A proxy video with a low bit rate can also be recorded simultaneously during video recording.
  3. [SH PRE] function has been added
    - [SH PRE] function has been added, which enables recording of images for the set amount of time even between when the shutter button is pressed halfway until it is pressed fully when taking SH burst pictures.
  4. Automatic detection function has been enhanced
    - Tracking and recognition performance of human recognition have been improved.
    - It is possible to set [Target Parts] and detect eyes for [ANIMAL].
    - [CAR] and [MOTORCYCLE] have been added to automatic detection.
  5. Enhancement of Image Stabilizer performance
    - [HIGH] has been added to the E-Stabilization (Video) function, which electronically corrects large shakes when shooting on the move.
    - A perspective distortion correction has been added to correct distortion that tends to occur during video recording when using a wide-angle lens.
  6. Other improvement
    - There were cases where coloring such as reddish-purple occurs under certain conditions when shooting in Live View Composite mode. This phenomenon has been fixed.
    - Improved operational stability.
  7. Operating Instructions for the Change of Specifications
Version: 2.4 Jan. 30, 2024 There were cases where vertical lines would appear in the image when capturing JPEG photos or JPEG photos processed from RAW format on the camera in i.Dynamic Range control. This bug has been fixed.

  1. [AF-Point Scope] Function has been added.
    • Added an AF point scope function that allows you to enlarge the focus position during AF.
  2. High resolution mode function has been enhanced.
    • It is now possible to set the shutter speed up to 8 seconds in the High Resolution mode. In addition, [Long Exposure NR] can be used.
    • Thanks to the image stabilizer, [Handheld High-Res] mode has been added to enable recording pictures with higher resolution even without using a tripod.
  3. MF Assist Magnification Setting has been added.
    • It is now possible to magnify the full screen mode display in MF Assist up to approx. 20 times when recording pictures.
  4. Improved the switching speed between LCD and LVF.
  5. Improved viewfinder visibility between continuous shooting frames.
  6. Improved operational stability.

  1. There were cases that some subjects and their outlines are colored depending on the shooting conditions. This phenomenon has been fixed.

  1. New functions and options to be available with the Upgrade Software Key DMW-SFU2.
    An [Activation] function has been added which enables the use of extended functions using the Upgrade Software Key DMW-SFU2. The following functions will be added by activating the Upgrade Software Key.
    • [5.9K] / [4.1K] / [Anamorphic (4:3) 3.5K] 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI to Blackmagic Video Assist 5" 12G HDR and Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G HDR, to be recorded as Blackmagic RAW.
      • DaVinci Resolve or DaVinci Resolve Studio is required to play back and DaVinci Resolve Studio to edit Blackmagic RAW data.
      • Selectable recording mode depends on the firmware version of Blackmagic Video Assist 5" 12G HDR, Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G HDR and DaVinci Resolve Studio.
      • Please refer to the Blackmagic Design website for the information on the corresponding firmware version of Blackmagic Video Assist 5" 12G HDR and Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G HDR.
      • All functions may not be available depending on the situation
    • [5.9K] / [4.1K] / [Anamorphic (4:3) 3.5K] 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI to Atomos NINJA V+ and NINJA V, to be recorded as Apple ProRes RAW.
      • All functions may not be available depending on the situation.
      • Software that supports Apple ProRes RAW is required to edit RAW video recorded with NINJA V+ and NINJA V.
      • A LUT (Look-up table) exclusively designed for RAW video recorded on NINJA V+ and NINJA V is available on the following customer support website to make the same color grading as V-Log/V-Gamut.

  1. Live-view display settings while half-pressing the shutter button at Auto Focus Continuous can now be switched between "Speed priority" and "Image priority".
    • The default setting will be speed priority after the firmware update.
