How to add a name and telephone number to the Phonebook.

The Phonebook feature allows you to store names and phone numbers in the telephone for quick access.

The number of entries that can be stored and the process to store vary depending on the model. For instructions on a particular model select the alpha numeric digits that the telephone model begins with from the list below.

Model KX-TG113CSK


The shared phonebook allows you to make calls without having to dial manually. Any handset registered to the base unit can use the shared phonebook. You can add 50 names and phone numbers to the shared phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group.


Important

  • Only 1 person can access the shared phonebook at a time.
  • Call Display subscribers can use group ringer tone features.

To add a phonebook item using the Handset

  1. Press the Phonebook Image button then press [ADD].
  2. Enter the name by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad (16 characters max), press [OK].
  3. Enter the phone number (24 characters max) of the contact then press [OK].
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired group, press [SELECT] two times.
  5. Press [OFF].

Model KX-TG133CSK


You can add up to 100 names (16 characters max.) and phone numbers (24 digits max.) to the phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group.


All entries can be shared by the base unit and any registered handset.


To add a phonebook item on the Handset

  1. Press the arrow left ◄ for the Phonebook Image Icon then press [MENU].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Add new Entry" press [SELECT ].
  3. Enter the name by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, for space press "0". Press [OK].
  4. Enter the phone number of the contact then press [OK].
  5. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired group, press [SELECT] two times.
  6. Press [OFF].

To add a phonebook item on the Base Unit

  1. Press the Phonebook Image button, then press [MENU].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Add new Entry" press [SELECT].
  3. Enter the name by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, for space press "0". Press [OK].
  4. Enter the phone number of the contact then press [OK].
  5. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired group, press [SELECT] two times.
  6. Press [EXIT].

Model KX-TG153CSK


You can store up to 3,000 phonebook entries and assign a name (16 characters max.) and up to 3 phone numbers to each (24 digits max. each). You can assign each phonebook entry to a group. The following groups are available:

  • Group 1: “Home” (default)
  • Group 2: “Cell 1”
  • Group 3: “Cell 2"
  • Group 4-9: You can change the group name for group 4 - 9.

Important

  • All entries can be shared by any registered handset.
  • You can copy phonebook entries from a Bluetooth cellular phone to the unit’s phonebook.


Model KX-TG163CSK


You can add up to 100 names (16 characters max.) and phone numbers (24 digits max.) to the phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group.


Model KX-TG175CSK


You can add 3,000 names (16 characters max.) and phone numbers (24 digits max.) to the phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group. The following groups are available:


Model KX-TG2153SK


The phonebook can store up to 70 names and numbers. Names can be up to 16 characters long and numbers up to 24 digits.


Multiple entries can be stored with the same name. However, to prevent unnecessary duplicated entries, the number can be stored only once.

  1. Press the [MENU] button.
  2. Press the arrow down ▼ to select "Phonebook".
  3. Press the [OK] button.
  4. Press the arrow down ▼ to select "Add New".
  5. Press the [OK] button.
  6. "Enter name" is displayed, Use the keypad letters to enter names.
    e.g. to store "Tom"
    • Press the number [8] once to enter T.
    • Press the number [6] three times to enter o.
    • Press the number [6] once to enter m.
    • Press and Hold the pound # button to change from lower to upper case and back.
    • Press the [Clear] button to delete the last character or digit.
    • Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to move between characters/digits.
    • Press the number [0] to insert a space.
  7. Press the [OK] button.
  8. "Enter number" is displayed, Enter the number.
  9. Press the [OK] button to save.
  10. To exit programming,
    • If programming with the handset press [OFF]
    • If programming with the base unit press [EXIT/STOP]

Models KX-TG2711, KX-TG2722


You can add up to 50 names (16 characters max.) and phone numbers (24 digits max.) to the phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group.

All entries can be shared by any registered handset

The total number of entries that can be stored varies depending on how many phone numbers you have stored for each entry. Total number of entries is shown below.

  • 1 name + 1 phone number: 3,000 entries
  • 1 name + 2 phone numbers: 1,500 entries
  • 1 name + 3 phone numbers: 1,000 entries

To add a phonebook item


  1. On the handset press the arrow left ◄ button to access the Phonebook, then press [MENU].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Add new Entry" press [ SELECT ].
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Name" press [SELECT].
  4. Enter the name by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, for space pres "0". Press [OK].
  5. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired phone number location, press [SELECT].
  6. Enter the phone number of the contact then press [OK].
  7. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired label, press [SELECT]. (To store 2 or 3 phone numbers, repeat steps 5 - 7.)
  8. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the current setting of the group (default:"Home"), press [SELECT].
  9. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired group, press [SELECT].
  10. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Save", press [SELECT].
  11. Press [OFF ].

The Default group name is "Group 1" to "Group 9". You can rename the Group name.

Group Name change on Handset

  1. Press the left [◄] for the phonebook Image Icon then press [MENU].
  2. Press arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select “Group”.
  3. Press [SELECT] Select the one of the groups 1 to 9 and press [SELECT].
  4. Press [▲ or ▼]To select “Group name” to change group names. Press [SELECT].
    Edit the name (10 characters max.) by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, for space pre "0".
  5. Press [SAVE].

Note:

In step 3, you can switch the language for entering characters. [#] Press ▲ or ▼ to Select the desired language and press [OK].
