How to connect to external devices via Bluetooth wireless technology. - DMC-CM1

Use Bluetooth wireless technology with this unit and Bluetooth-compatible devices. Transfer data with Bluetooth-compatible devices, or connect to wireless headsets to listen to music.

Turning on the Bluetooth function

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. Turn on [Bluetooth].
   • [Bluetooth Icon] is displayed in the status bar when the Bluetooth function is turned on.

Configuring pairing with Bluetooth devices

Turn on device's Bluetooth function, and check that it can be connected via Bluetooth.

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. Tap [Bluetooth].
   • The unit searches for Bluetooth devices, and detected Bluetooth devices are displayed in the [AVAILABLE DEVICES] column.
   • Tap [SEARCH FOR DEVICES] to search again.
   • Tapping the unit name sets whether or not it is discoverable by other Bluetooth devices. The discoverable time can be configured with [More Options] → [Visibility Timeout].
3. Select the detected Bluetooth device and configuring pairing.
4. If required, enter the passcode (PIN).
   • This completes the pairing configuration, and the Bluetooth device is connected.

Changing the unit's name

The name of the unit is displayed on the other device can be changed.

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. [More Options] → [Rename Phone].
3. Enter the name and the select [Rename].

Unpairing a Bluetooth device

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. Select the currently connected Bluetooth device in the [PAIRED DEVICES] column → [OK].

Note:

Pairing settings will not be deleted when unpairing a device.

Connecting to Bluetooth device that has already been paired

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. Select the Bluetooth device to connect to in the [PAIRED DEVICES] column.

Note:

Only one Bluetooth device can be connected at the same time, even if multiple Bluetooth devices have been configured for pairing.

Deleting paired Bluetooth devices

1. From the Home screen, press [Menu / Shortcut] → [Settings].
2. Tap [Paired Devices]
3. Tap [Unpair].

Sending data to a Bluetooth device

1. Select the data to send from the app.
2. Open the send / share menu in the app.
3. Tap [Bluetooth].
4. Select the destination Bluetooth device.

Receiving data from a Bluetooth device

1. Send the data from the sending Bluetooth device.
   • Refer to the operating instructions of the sending Bluetooth device for details on operations.
2. Open the notifications panel → [Bluetooth share: Incoming file] → [Accept].
