How to install a microwave trim kit into a cabinet.

*The concept of this installation procedure applies to most Microwave Oven trim kits.

This answer does not apply to all models.


Refer to your models Operating Manual for specific procedure.
 

Preparation:

You will require work gloves and an Electric screwdriver (drill).

This is required for all models except the models that begin with "NN-TK719" and end with "QPQ" as well as models that begin with "NN-TK519" and end with "HNE".
Confirm that all the parts for your trim kit are present such as;

  • Top Duct
  • Left Duct
  • Tape
  • Rail
  • Screws
  • Brackets
  • Catches
  • Trim Frame
  • Strikes
  1. Read and follow all instructions completely for your trim kit model.
  2. Each Trim Kit model is designed for use with a designated Panasonic Microwave ovenmodel.

Fit the part on the Microwave Oven.

  1. Take off the cover on the back of the Microwave. (This is an additional cover that is installed onthe back of the microwave)
  2. Mount the top duct to the Microwave Oven.
  3. Mount the back cover to the Microwave Oven that was removed in step 1.
  4. Mount the left duct to the Microwave Oven.
  5. Put a piece of the supplied tape on the top and side of both ducts as demonstrated in the video.
 

Setting the parts in the cabinet.

  1. Confirm the measurements of your cabinet are the required ones as advised in the operating instructions for your trim kit model.
  2. Attach the base bracket assembly to the cabinet using the provided screws and a electric screwdriver.
  3. Mount the 4 brackets to the cabinet using an electric screwdriver.
  4. Insert the catch to each of the 4 brackets.
 

Installation of the Microwave Oven into the cabinet.

  1. Insert the 4 strikes into the trim frame.
  2. Install the microwave oven into the cabinet.
  3. Install the trim frame to the cabinet by aligning the frame strikes with each catch installed in the bracket.
  4. Once aligned lightly press on each corner of the frame near the strikes to clip the frame into the catch.
