How to make or receive a phone call with hands free profile. - Headphones/Earbuds

With Bluetooth® enabled phones (cell phones or smartphones) that support either the “HSP” or “HFP” Bluetooth® profile, you can use Panasonic headphones for phone calls.

  • HSP (Headset Profile):This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish two-way communication using the microphone on the unit.
  • HSP (Headset Profile):This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish two-way communication using the microphone on the unit.

Compatibility to HSP and HFP and operation when receiving a phone call vary by model, select your model from the list below for specific compatibility and operational steps. If your model is not listed please Refer to your models Operating Manual for specific procedure.

With Bluetooth® enabled phones (cell phones or smartphones) that support the “HSP” or “HFP” Bluetooth® profile, you can use the unit for phone calls.


HSP (Headset Profile):This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish two-way communication using the microphone on the unit.

HFP (Hands-Free Profile): In addition to the HSP functions, this profile has the incoming and outgoing calls function.


How to receive a call:

  1. Connect the Bluetooth® enabled phone and headphone.
  2. When answering an incoming call - Press the Call button on the remote controller and answer the call. Image of call button Call button
    • During an incoming call, ringtone will sound from the earphones and the LED will blink.
    • (HFP only) To reject the incoming call, press and the Call button twice quickly until the ringtone stops.
  3. Start talking
    • The LED will repeatedly blink 2 times during a call.
    • The volume can be adjusted during a phone call.
  4. Press the Call button to end the phone call. A beep will sound.

Note

  • There may be instances when hands free setting need to be done on the Bluetooth® enabled phone.
  • Depending on the Bluetooth® enabled phone, you may hear incoming and outgoing call ringtones of the phone from the unit.
  • (HFP only) Press the Call button twice quickly on the unit. The calling device will be switched between the Bluetooth® enabled phone and the unit.

When making an outgoing call:

Make an outgoing call on the Bluetooth® enabled phone.

  • Also refer to the operating manual for the Bluetooth® enabled phone. (Checking and operation steps on the unit are explained below)
  • During an outgoing call, ringtone will sound from the earphones and the LED will blink.
  • To cancel the outgoing call, press the Call button. A beep will sound.

With Bluetooth® enabled phones (cell phones or smartphones) that support the “HFP” Bluetooth® profile, you can use the unit for phone calls:


HFP (Hands-Free Profile)

This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish two-way communication using the microphone on the unit. In addition, this profile has the incoming and outgoing calls function. (This unit does not have a function that allows you to make phone calls independently of a Bluetooth® enabled phone.)


  1. Connect the Bluetooth® device and the unit.
  2. Touch a touch sensor (L or R) on the earphone once to answer an incoming call.
    • During an incoming call, ringtone will sound from the unit.
    • To reject a phone call, touch and hold a touch sensor (L or R) for about 2 seconds.
  3. Start talking.
  4. Touch a touch sensor (L or R) on the earphone 2 times to end the call.

Note

Depending on the Bluetooth® enabled phone, you may hear incoming and outgoing call ringtones of the phone from the unit.

HFP (Hands-Free Profile)

This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish two-way communication using the microphone on the unit. In addition, this profile has the incoming and outgoing calls function. (This unit does not have a function that allows you to make phone calls independently of a Bluetooth® enabled phone.)


  1. Connect the Bluetooth® device and the unit.
  2. Touch a touch sensor (L or R) on the earphone once to answer an incoming call.
    • During an incoming call, ringtone will sound from the unit.
    • To reject a phone call, touch and hold a touch sensor (L or R) for about 2 seconds.
  3. Start talking.
  4. : Touch a touch sensor (L or R) on the earphone once to end the call.
