How to record channels from a HD cable box.

We recommend that you connect the cable box and DVD recorder as suggested in this diagram.

Note:

If the signal from your cable provider is not encoded/scrambled you should be able to record your cable programming using the above connections. As well the DVD player will not be able to recorde in HD resolution because there is no HDMI or componet input on DVD recorder only outputs.

Once both components (cable box and DVD recorder) are connected, the DVD recorder can record stations that are viewable with the cable box.


Secialty channels that require the cable box, you need to use the cable box tuner to receive these stations. Using the remote control, set the date, start time, stop time and “Line input” (if the cable box is connected to this input) to record. If your unit is connected to "A/V Input 1" then select “Line 1”  or "IN1" then select "IN1" as your recording input. 


Your cable box must be turned on and tuned to the specialty channel you wish to record (i.e. Channel 300).
