How to record video using Motion Picture Mode.

Applicable Recording Mode for models DMC-FH2, DMC-FH25, DMC-FH5

  1. Slide the [Rec] / [Playback] switch to [Still Camera].
  2. Press mode to display the selection screen.
  3. Press [] / [] / [] / [] to select "Motion Picture" and then press [Menu/Set].
  4. Press the shutter button halfway to focus and then press it fully to start recording.
    • The available recording time is displayed on the top right and the elapsed recording time is displayed on the bottom right of the screen.
    • After pressing the shutter button fully, release it straight away. If the button is held down, the sound will not be recorded for a few seconds when recording starts.
    • When the subject is focused, the focus indication lights.
    • The focus and zoom are fixed to those set at the beginning of recording for the first frame.
    • The audio is also recorded through the built-in microphone. Motion pictures cannot be recorded without audio.
  5. Press the shutter button fully to stop recording.
    • If the built-in memory or the card becomes full in the middle of recording, the camera stops recording automatically.

Notes for models DMC-FH2, DMC-FH25, DMC-FH5:

  • Use a card with SD Speed Class with Class 6 or higher when recording motion pictures.
  • The available recording time displayed on the screen may not decrease regularly.
  • Depending on the type of the card, the Card access indictor may appear for a while after recording motion pictures. This is not a malfunction.
  • "Digital Zoom" or "AF Assist Lamp" cannot be setup in the Motion Picture Mode. Settings from other Rec mode are used.
  • When motion pictures recorded with the camera are played back on other equipment, the quality of the picture and sound may deteriorate and it may not be possible to play them back. The recording information may not be displayed correctly.
  • It is recommended to use a fully charged battery or AC adaptor (optional) and DC coupler (optional) when recording motion pictures.
  • If while recording motion pictures using the AC adaptor and the power supply is cut off due to a power outage or if the AC adaptor is disconnected etc., the motion picture being recorded will not be recorded.
  • Sound of operation may be recorded when button or other operations are performed during motion picture recording.
