How to set up the telephone's speed dial feature.

Speed dial is a function available on many telephone models that allows the user to place a call by pressing a reduced number of keys. This function is particularly useful for phone users who dial certain numbers on a regular basis.


Programming speed dial varies by telephone model.

Models KX-TG133CSK, KX-TG153CSK


You can assign 1 phone number to each of the dial keys (1 to 9). You can store phone numbers to the base unit and handset separately:

  • Handset: up to 9 entries.
  • Base unit: up to 9 entries

Entering manually on the handset


  1. Press and hold the desired speed dial key (1 - 9).
  2. Press [ADD].
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Manual".
  4. Press [SELECT].
  5. Enter the name of the contact by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, (16 characters max.).
  6. Press [OK].
  7. Enter the phone number of the contact (24 digit max.).
  8. Press [OK].
  9. Press [SELECT].
  10. Press [OFF].
  1. Press and hold the desired speed dial key (1 - 9).
  2. Press [ADD].
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select "Phonebook".
  4. Press [SELECT].
  5. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry.
  6. Press [SELECT].
  7. Press  [SAVE].
  8. Press [OFF].

Note: If you edit a phonebook entry which is assigned to a speed dial key, the edited entry does not transfer to the speed dial key.

  1. Press [ SPEED DIAL ].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired speed dial key.
  3. Press [ Edit ].
  4. Enter the name of the contact by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, (16 characters max.).
  5. Press [ OK ].
  6. Enter the phone number of the contact (24 digit max.).
  7. Press [ OK ].
  8. Press [ SELECT ].
  9. Press [ EXIT ].
  1. Press [ SPEED DIAL ].
  2. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired speed dial key.
  3. Press Phonebook Image.
  4. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ button to select the desired entry.
  5. Press [SAVE].
  6. Press [EXIT].

Note: If you edit a phonebook entry which is assigned to a speed dial key, the edited entry does not transfer to the speed dial key.

  6. Press [OK].
  7. Enter the phone number of the contact (24 digit max.).
  8. Press [OK].
  9. Press [OFF]

Note: An entry stored in the phonebook can not be stored as a speed dial number.

Important

You can set speed dial using one of the handsets. The stored numbers speed dial keys (A, B, C) can be used for all registered handsets and the base unit.

You can assign 1 phone number to each of the dial keys (1 and 2). The speed dial number can be up to 24 digits.

If a number is stored in the phonebook, it cannot be stored as a speed dial number.


Storing phone numbers to Speed dial keys

  1. Press the [MENU/OK] button to select "Phonebook".
  2. Press the [MENU/OK] button again.
  3. Press the arrow down ▼ to select "Speed Dial 1" or "Speed Dial 2" as the location you want to store the number to.
  4. Press the [MENU/OK] button.
  5. Enter in the telephone number.
  6. Press the [MENU/OK] button to save.

Note: If you want to change or delete the speed dial number follow the first 3 steps above then delete the number by pressing the [MUTE/BACK] button and either press the [MENU/OK] button to save no number or enter the new number and press the [MENU/OK] button to save.


To Dial a Speed Dial Number.

  1. Press and hold the relevant number key (1 or 2) until the number is displayed and dialed.
