Troubleshooting - An Error Code appears on the Rice Cooker or Multi Cooker display window.

Most error codes that display on a Rice Cooker or Multi Cooker is a self diagnostic which indicates some type of malfunction and would require it to be looked at by an Authorized Panasonic Service centre.

  Find a Panasonic Authorized Servicenter.
 

Error "H"


If you receive the following errors message, stop use of the Rice Cooker or Multi Cooker, unplug the unit and contact an Authorized Panasonic Servicenter.

Error "U10"


  • Confirm the Inner Pan is properly set.
  • Press the [Cancel/Off] button to disappear the error message and for some models after closing the Outer Lid, the error message will disappear in a while without having to press the [Cancel/Off] button.
  • Operate it again.

Error "U12"


  • The pan sensor has detected an abnormal temperature, confirm if there is foreign object or dirt attached to the bottom part of the Inner Pan, the Inner Lid, the Lid Sensor or the Pan bottom sensor.
  • Remove the foreign object or dirt and press the [Cancel/Off] button.
  • Confirm if there is too much water in the Inner Pan especially if your model is cooking congee using the "white rice" program.
  • Press the [Cancel/Off] button. (Upon next cooking, reduce the amount of water slightly.)

Error "U14"


Error code U14 indicates that the Keep Warm function has been on for over 96 continuous hours.  When this occurs the power supply will automatically cut off.

  1. Press [Off] or [Cancel/Off] button to resolve the error.

Note:

We recommend limiting use of the "Keep warm" function to under 12 hours, in order to preserve the delicious taste of the rice. (Some models are capable of using a "Keep warm" function for more than 12 hours. For details, please see the Operating Instructions.)

 

Error "U15"


  • Confirm if the outer lid is open.
  • Confirm that the Steam Cap (taste catcher) is fitted/mounted.
  • If the Steam Cap has been lost, please purchase another one from our Panasonic parts distributor (see Repacement parts and accessories.

    The rice can be cooked or kept warm without the Steam Cap (taste catcher) fitted, however the rice may
    • Not cook properly. (The rice will become dry if it is being kept warm.)
    • Rice taste will deteriorate. (Rice will become dry during keep warm).
    • Water may overflow when boiled.
    • “U15” may be displayed again when cooking is finished.
    • This may cause congee or porridge unable to be properly cooked.
    • Is there any foreign object, oil or dirt inside the steam cap (taste catcher)?
      Remove the foreign object or dirt. Wash it thoroughly before it is installed.

Error "U20"


This error indicates that the water vessel is not properly set in position. After checking that the water vessel for steam is properly in position, press the "Cancel/Off" button.
If, after checking standard accessories and usage, there is no improvement, please request the store where you purchased this product or a nearby electrical store to inspect and repair the product.

 

Error "U25"


  • Confirm if the Intake or Exhaust Vent on the bottom of the Rice Cooker blocked by dust etc.
  • Remove the dust using the following procedure.
    1. Press the [Cancel/Off] button and then remove the Power Plug.
    2. Once the body has cooled down, remove the Inner Pan.
    3. Remove the dust from the Intake/Exhaust Vents on the bottom of the Rice Cooker.
  • Confirm if the rice cooker being used on a carpet etc.
  • Do not use the Rice Cooker in a location where the bottom of the Rice Cooker is restricted.
