Troubleshooting - Cannot send a fax.

When a fax cannot be sent, it is usually due to a problem with the receiving machine. See list below to identify possible issues.

Try to send a fax to more than one person to confirm if the problem affects all locations or the location you're trying to send a fax.
If you have determined that you cannot send to anyone, check your line connection. The simplest way to do this is to phone the fax number or listen for a dial tone. If you cannot make a telephone call, check the LINE jack is it plugged in correctly? If it is connected correctly and you still cannot make a telephone call, try connecting the fax to a jack you know is operating. If there is still no dial tone and you cannot make a call, we recommend contacting one of our authorized Panasonic Servicentres.
If you can make phone calls, determine if you can receive a fax. If you can receive faxes, the only reason you may not be able to send a fax is if the paper you are trying to send gets stuck in the machine during the transmission. In this case, check the paper to make sure that it does not have rough edges, or that it meets the recommended minimal fax transmission size.
If you cannot send or receive a fax, but have a good line connection, you need to eliminate the following three possible interferences:

If you have a DSL line (high-speed Internet connection), ensure that you have a filter attached between the wall jack and fax line cord. The filter prevents interference between fax/voice devices and the DSL modem that share a phone line.
If your fax machine does not have a built-in answering system, ensure the fax cord from the wall jack is plugged directly into the input labelled LINE, located on the back of the fax machine.
If your fax machine is connected using a splitter, remove the splitter and connect the fax system directly to the wall jack. Ensure that another electronic device is not connected to the same line that may be causing an interruption.
