Troubleshooting - No Cooking/No Heating Step by Step - Microwave
Cooking Tips.
- Place thin parts of the food toward the center of the dish and thick pieces toward the edge.
- Thin pieces cook more quickly than thick pieces.
- Use plastic wrap or lid.
- Stir once or twice while cooking soup, cocoa or milk, etc.
Perform the Basic Power Test:
- Fill a microwave safe measuring cup with 8 oz. of cold water.
- Place the cup in the microwave.
- Make sure the oven door is completely closed securely.
- Press [Quick Min] or [Quick 30] button.
- Press [Start] button or [Start] dial (if needed)
If the microwave does not start cooking, it's likely another program is already entered into the oven; press [Stop/Reset] to cancel the previous program and enter a new program according to the operating instructions for your model.
If The Microwave is still not cooking or heating
- Check the Power Supply: Ensure the microwave is plugged in and that the outlet is working.
- Inspect the Door Latch: Make sure the door is closing securely. A loose or misaligned latch can prevent operation.
- Examine the Control Settings: Ensure that the timer and power settings are correctly set and that you are not in demo mode.
- Test the Circuit Breaker: Check the circuit breaker to ensure it hasn’t tripped.
- Inspect the Turntable: Make sure the turntable is correctly positioned and that it is turning freely.
- Check the Magnetron: Listen for unusual sounds when the microwave is running.
- Look for Error Codes: If applicable, check the display for error codes and refer to An Error Code appears in the Microwave display window.
