Troubleshooting - The images from the unit do not appear on the TV.

  • Make sure the recorder is connected to the output on the recorder and the appropriate AV input of the TV.
  • Make sure the TV’s input setting (e.g., VIDEO 1) is correct.
  • Press [VCR/TV] to change to VCR mode. 
  • Picture may not be seen when more than 4 devices are connected with HDMI cables. Reduce the number of connected devices

DMR-EZ48 & DMR-EZ485

  • The TV isn’t compatible with progressive signals. Press and hold [] and [►] on the main unit for about 5 seconds. The setting will change to interlace.
  • When connecting with component video cables to a television, check if there is also an HDMI cable connected to an amplifier. If so, turn off the equipment connected with an HDMI cable and set the “HDMI Priority” to “Off” in the Setup menu. 
  • To output video from a device connected with an HDMI cable, set “HDMI Priority” to “On” in the Setup menu.

DMR-ES30, DMR-ES35

  • Make sure that the TV is connected to the VIDEO OUT terminal, S-VIDEO OUT terminal or COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminals on the unit.
  • Make sure that the TV’s input setting (e.g., VIDEO 1) is correct.
  • The TV isn’t compatible with progressive signals. Press and hold [] and [►DVD, DUBBING] on DVD of the main unit at the same time for about 5 seconds. The setting will change to interlace.

DMR-ES40

  • Make sure that the TV is connected to the VIDEO OUT terminal, S-VIDEO OUT terminal or COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminals on the unit.
  • Make sure that the TV’s input setting (e.g., VIDEO 1) is correct.
  • The TV isn’t compatible with progressive signals. Press and hold [] and [►DVD, DUBBING] on DVD of the main unit at the same time for about 5 seconds. The setting will change to interlace.
  • Make sure that progressive output has not been selected when the connected TV is not progressive compatible. Press and hold [CANCEL] until the picture displays correctly. The setting will return 480i.

DMR-EZ47 & DMR-EZ475 

  • The TV isn’t compatible with progressive signals.  Press and hold [* Cancel] for about 5 seconds. The setting will change to interlace.
  • When connecting with component video cables to a television that is incompatible with progressive video, check if there is also an HDMI cable connected to an amplifier. If so, turn off the equipment connected with an HDMI cable, press [] and [►] on the unit more than 5 seconds simultaneously, and set the “HDMI Video Output” to “Off” in the Setup menu.
  • To output video from a device connected with an HDMI cable, set “HDMI Video Output” to “On” in the Setup menu.

DMR-EH75

  • Make sure that the television is connected to the VIDEO OUT terminal, S VIDEO OUT terminal, COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminals or HDMI AV OUT terminal on this unit.
  • Make sure that the television’s input setting (e.g., VIDEO 1) is correct.
  • Progressive output is set to on but the connected television is not progressive compatible.
  • Press and hold [] and [►] on the main unit at the same time for more than 5 seconds to cancel this setting. The setting will change to interlace.
  • When connecting with a component video cable to a television that is incompatible with progressive video, check if there is also an HDMI cable connected to an amplifier, etc. If so, turn the power off to the device connected with an HDMI cable, and set the “HDMI Video Output” to “Off” in the Setup menu.
  • To output video from a device connected with an HDMI cable, set “HDMI Video Output” to “On” in the Setup menu.
  • Picture may not be seen when more than 4 devices are connected with HDMI cables. Reduce the number of connected devices.
