If your Technics remote control is not functioning correctly, the following causes and solutions may help resolve the issue. For model-specific instructions, refer to your operating manual. For additional assistance, visit the Firmware updates for Audio products.
Possible Causes and Solutions
1. Batteries are depleted or inserted incorrectly
Cause: The remote control batteries may be low or improperly installed.
Solution: Replace the batteries with new ones and ensure they are inserted correctly, following the polarity (+/-) markings.
2. Objects blocking the signal sensor
Cause: Objects in front of the signal sensor can interfere with the remote control's signal.
Solution: Ensure there are no objects obstructing the line of sight between the remote control and the signal sensor on the device.
3. Other devices reacting to the remote control
Cause: The remote control may be on a code that causes interference with other devices.
Solution: Change the remote control code to prevent interference:
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control.
- Use the arrow buttons ▲ or ▼ to select “Remote Control” and press [OK].
- The current remote control code will be displayed. To change it:
- Set Mode 1: Press and hold [OK] and [1] for at least 4 seconds.
- Set Mode 2: Press and hold [OK] and [2] for at least 4 seconds.
- Point the remote control at the device and press and hold [OK] for at least 4 seconds.
- The new remote control code will appear on the display for a few seconds.
4. Specific Instructions for Models SL-G700, SL-G700M3
Cause: The remote control may not be in the correct mode to operate this unit.
Solution: Press [NWP] or [CD] first to operate the unit. The remote control works only for devices supporting the system control function when [AMP] is pressed.
