Troubleshooting - The television screen turns off.

There are many factors that can cause the Television to Shut down. Select the model from the list below for troubleshooting operations.

For models not listed below refer to the operating instructions for specific model information.



Models TC-32AS500, TC-39AS500


Check the settings in the "Timer" menu.

  1. Press [MENU]
  2. Select "Timer"
  3. Check the "No activity for 4 hours" setting as well as the "No signal for 10 minutes" setting.
  4. Select "Stay on" for both if you do not want the television to turn off automatically.

Note:


No Activity for 4 hours

  • To conserve energy, the TV automatically turns off when there is no operation of the
    remote and side panel key for more than 4 hours.
  • If the “On/Off Timer” is set. "No activity for 4 hours will not be in use. 
  • “No activity for 4 hours was activated” will be displayed for about 10 seconds when the TV is turned on for the first time after the power was turned off by “No activity for 4 hours” feature.
  • The on-screen display will flash 3, 2 and 1 to indicate the last three (3) remaining
    minutes prior to the shut-off.

No signal for 10 minutes

  • To conserve energy, the TV automatically turns off when NO SIGNAL and NO
    OPERATION continue for more than 10 minutes.
  • Not in use when “On/Off Timer” is set.
  • “No signal for 10 minutes was activated” will be displayed for about 10 seconds when the TV is turned on for the first time after the power was turned off by “No signal for 10 minutes” feature.
  • The on-screen display will flash 3, 2 and 1 to indicate the last three (3) remaining minutes prior to the shut-off.

  1. Press [MENU] and select "SETUP".
  2. Press [OK]/[►].
  3. Press [◄]/[►] to select "SYSTEM" and press [OK].
  4. Press [▲]/[▼] to select "TIME" and press [OK].
  5. Press [▲]/[▼] to select "Sleep Timer" and select "Off".

Check the settings in the "Eco Navigation" and "Timer" menu.

In Eco Navigation Menu

  1. Press [MENU]
  2. Select "Setup"
  3. Select " Eco Navigation"
  4. Check the "No activity for 4 hours" setting as well as the "No signal for 10 minutes" setting.
  5. Select "Stay on" for both if you do not want the television to turn off automatically.

In Timer Menu

  1. Press [MENU]
  2. Select "Timer"
  3. Check the "No activity for 4 hours" setting as well as the "No signal for 10 mintes" setting.
  4. Select "Stay on" for both if you do not want the television to turn off automatically.

Note:

    Operation continue for more than 10 minutes.

  • No signal for 10 minutes was activated” will be displayed for about 10 seconds when the TV is turned on for the first time after the power was turned off by “No signal for 10 minutes” feature.
  • The on-screen display will flash "3", "2" and "1" to indicate the last three (3) remaining minutes prior to the shut-off.

  1. Press [MENU].
  2. Select "Setup" and press [OK].
  3. Press [▼] and select "Time setup" and press [OK].
  4. Press [▼] and select "Time" and press[OK].
  5. Press [▼] and select "Power Off Timer" and press [OK].
  6. Press the [▼] to select "Off" and press [OK].
  7. Press [RETURN] and press [▼] to select "Sleep Timer" and press [OK}.
  8. Press [▼] to select "Off" and press [OK].
  9. Press [▼] to sleect "Auto Sleep" and press [OK].
  10. Press [▼] to select "Off" and press [OK].
  11. Press [▼] to select "No signal Power off" and press [OK].
  12. Press [▼] and select "Off" and press [OK].
  13. Press [Exit] to return back to your video display.
