How to connect to a smartphone/tablet using a password.

When [Wi-Fi Password] is set to [ON], you can strengthen security by using manual input or a QR code for password authentication.  

Preparation

On the camera

  Set [Wi-Fi Password] to [ON].  

• Press [MENU] → [Setup] → [Wi-Fi] → [Wi-Fi Setup] → [Wi-Fi Password] → [ON]
• For models DC-ZS80, DC-FZ1000M2, DC-G95:
  • Press [MENU] → [Setup] → [Wi-Fi] → [Wi-Fi Function] → [New Connection] → [Remote Shooting & View]

 

When reading a QR Code to connect (On the camera)

• Press [MENU] → [Setup] → [Wi-Fi] → [Wi-Fi Function] → [New Connection] → [Remote Shooting & View]
  • The information (QR Code, SSID and Password) required for directly connecting your smartphone to this unit is displayed.
  • You can also display the information by pressing the [Wi-Fi] button on the camera.

 

On your smartphone

1. Start the Panasonic "Image App"
   • For information on downloading the Panasonic "Image App", click here
2. Select "QR Code"
   • When the smartphone is connected to a wireless access point, it may take time to display QR code.
   • For iOS devices:
     • A confirmation screen will be displayed. Select [OK] to proceed.
3. Use the "Image App" to scan the QR code displayed on the screen of the camera.
   • If you press [MENU/SET] on the camera, the QR code will be enlarged.
4. For iOS devices only, install the profile
   • If the smartphone is locked with a passcode, enter the passcode to unlock the smartphone.
5. Press the home button to close the browser.
6. Turn on the Wi-Fi function in the setting menu.
7. On the Wi-Fi setting screen, select the SSID displayed on the camera Start "Image App"

 

Manually Entering a Password to Establish a Connection

On the camera

• Press [MENU] → [Setup] → [Wi-Fi] → [Wi-Fi Function] → [New Connection] → [Remote Shooting & View]
  • The information (QR Code, SSID and Password) required for directly connecting your smartphone to this unit is displayed.
  • You can also display the information by pressing [Wi-Fi] button on the camera.

 

On your smartphone

1. Turn on the Wi-Fi function in the setting menu.
2. On the Wi-Fi setting screen, select the SSID displayed on the camera.
3. Enter the password displayed on the camera (For first time connection only).
   • If you are using an Android device, marking the box for password display will allow the device to display the password as you enter it.
4. Start "Image App"
