How to use the timer function on a Panasonic Rice Cooker.

Weigh out Required rice using the measuring cup included. The Cup of the rice is about 150g; Wash rice in another container and make sure to wash it clean. It is better not to wash the rice directly inside the inner Pan in order to prevent scuffing the inner Pan.

The presetting time is desired time for eating.


  • Time can be preset 24 hours in advance.

Example

If the timer is set for 18:30, cooking will be completed at 18:30.


  • When the preset timing is less than the required timing for cooking, the electric rice cooker will start cooking as soon as start button is pressed.
  • Memory of preset time will be lost if battery power is fully utilized. Please contact authorized service center for replacement.

Operations

  1. Press menu select button to select function
    • Applicable functions for timer setting.

  2. Press timer button to select the timer setting.
    • The first time timer  button is pressed, the previous timer setting will be displayed.
    • The time and the start indicator blink.
  3. Press left right button to set desired time.
    • The timer will advance 10 minutes each time.
    • Keeping the button pressed will make setting faster.
  4. Press start button.
    • The  timer indicator turns off and the Image indicator lights up.
    • When cooking starts, the timer indicator turns off and the start indicator lights up.

Timer setting can’t be used in the following functions:

There are two timers that can be ste, (These are stored until changed.)

You may find it convenient to store often used times, using, for example, "timer 1" for breakfast and "timer 2" for evening meal.


The example will be to set the timer to 7:30 am


  1. Check that the current time is correct.
  2. Check the cooking settings.
    1. Press the "Rice Select" button repeatedly to choose between "White Rice", "Rinse Free", "Brown Rice", and "Multi Grain".
    2. Press "Delicious Select" to move "▲" directly to "Delicious" then press "Delicious Select" again to select the hardness of the rice between "Regular", "Hard", and "Soft".
  3. Press "Timer 1-2" repeatedly to select between “Timer 1” or “Timer 2”.
    • The clock on the display will flash. 
  4. Set the time by pressing "Hour" to change the Hour forward in units of 1 hour and "Minute" to change forward thriugh the minutes in units of 10 min.
    • Hold down the button if you would like to cycle through the time faster.
  5. Press the "Start" button.
    • The "Start" button flashes, The "Timer 1-2" button lights up and when the buzzer sounds after cooking, the steaming stage has finished. Mix the rice immediately. (This is to allow excess moisture to evaporate.) and the "Start" button light will go off.

Notes:

  • If there is insufficient time for the timer setting, the timer will not allow the setting, and cooking will start immediately. (See “Timer Setting Restriction”.)

  • The timer cannot be used with the “Quinoa/Quick” or “Mixed” setting.
  • If the timer setting is 13 hours or longer (8 hours or longer when the water temperature is high), the rice may ferment, then generate undesirable odor.
  • When cooking with the timer, the time until the rice is ready is not displayed.
  • When cooking with the timer, the rice may absorb excess water. This can result in the rice becoming soft or burnt. ➞  Reduce the amount of water slightly if the rice is soft. (Reduce water by approximately 1 to 2 fl  oz. / 30 to 60 mL from the Water Level.)
