Troubleshooting - Cannot operate the answering system remotely.

  • The remote access code is not set. Set the remote access code. Refer to How to access the answering machine messages from an outside location.
  • You are entering the wrong remote access code. If you have forgotten your remote access code, enter the remote access code setting to check your current code.
  • The answering system is turned off. Turn it on.
  • Some telephone modem/telephone service providers set up configurations may prevent access to the answering system remotely. If you are connected through a modem for your telephone line, try connecting directly to a line that does not go through a modem. If you are able to access remotely when not connected to the modem contact your telephone service provider for a resolution.
  • For models with the Link to Cell features, you cannot operate the answering system when calling from a cellular phone paired to the base unit.
