“00000’s” are scrolling across the display of my DVD recorder. What does this mean?

The DVD recorder is having dificulties reading the disc, if the display disappears automatically then the unit will be ok. If the display does not disappear, the recorder is having difficulty with digital processing and will require service. If there is no display and "0" are displayed one by one followed by "PLEASE WAIT" then the unit is in termination process.  The "unit is in termination process now". “BYE” is displayed and power will be turned off. It possibly in some cases could be that "Quick Start" of the setup menu is "ON", This displays in restoration operation for AC off.
