How to use the Radio features on a Panasonic Audio System

Panasonic Audio products with Radio function allow you to tune stations manually, save favorite stations, change the sound quality for best reception, along with other radio features.


The features available and the programming steps vary by model.
Select your model from the drop down list below for specific programming. If your model is not listed Refer to your models Operating Manual for the specific procedure.



RC-7200

  1. Press the [RADIO] button.
  2. Select the desired Radio Band. The Radio Band selector switch is located on the right side of the unit. Band options are FM ST, Mono and AM.
  3. Adjust the station by rotating the [TUNING] dial. The Tuning dial is located below the Radio Band selector switch.
  4. To turn the Radio off press the [OFF] button.

RF-2400

  1. Set [OFF/BAND] switch to FM or AM.
    • When FM is selected the FM indicator turns orange.
    • When AM is selected the AM indicator turns orange.
  2. Adjust the station by rotating the [TUNING] dial.
  3. To turn the Radio off slide the [OFF/BAND] switch to OFF. The OFF indicator turns orange.

RX-D550

You can preset up to 30 FM channels.
Channel 1 to 5 will be set under [1] to [5] on this unit


Preparation

  1. Extend the antenna.
  2. Turn the unit on.
  3. On the remote press the [SELECT] button repeatedly to select "FM".
    • Alternatively, on the unit, press [FM]


Presetting stations automatically

  1. Complete the Preparation instructions described above.
  2. Press [PLAY MENU] to select “A.PRESET”.
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ to select “LOWEST” or “CURRENT” and then press [OK].
    • LOWEST: To begin auto preset with the lowest frequency (“FM 87.9” or “FM 87.5”).
    • CURRENT: To begin auto preset with the current frequency.
  4. The tuner starts to preset all the stations it can receive into the channels in ascending order.
  5. To cancel, press the Stop [■] button.

Listening to a preset channel

  1. Complete the Preparation instructions described above.
  2. Press [PLAY MENU] repeatedly to select “TUNE MODE”.
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ to select “PRESET” and then press [OK].
  4. Press the Skip back Image or Skip forward Image button to select the channel.

You can select channel 1 to 5 by pressing one of [1] to [5] on the unit.

Presetting stations manually

  1. Complete the Preparation instructions described above.
  2. While listening to a station press [OK].
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ to select the channel and then press [OK].

Do steps 1 through 2 again to preset more stations.

A station previously stored is overwritten when another station is stored in the same channel preset.

Changing the stations stored under [1] to [5]

On the main unit

  1. Complete the Preparation instructions described above.
  2. While listening to a station press and hold one of the 1 - 5 buttons until "P1, P2, P3, P4 or P5"" appears on the display.
  3. Press the arrow up ▲ or down ▼ to select the channel and then press [OK].

When you change the stations stored under [1] to [5], channel 1 to 5 are also changed to the same corresponding stations.

SC-AKX14



Manual tuning

  1. Press [RADIO] to select “FM or AM”.
  2. Press the rewind Image or fast forward Image button to tune in the station. To tune automatically, press and hold the button until the frequency starts changing quickly.

Improving the Radio sound quality


When "FM" is selected

  1. Press [RADIO] to select “FM Mode”.
  2. Press the arrow left ◄ or right ► to select “MONO" and then press [OK].
  3. To cancel select “Stereo". “MONO" is also cancelled when you change the frequency.

When "AM" is selected

  1. Press [RADIO] to select “B.PROOF”.
  2. Press the arrow left ◄ or right ► to select “BP 1" or “BP 2" and then press [OK].

Memory presetting

30 FM and 15 AM stations can be preset.


Automatic presetting

  1. Press [RADIO] to select “FM or AM”.
  2. Press [OK] to select “LOWEST” or “CURRENT” frequency.
  3. Press [AUTO PRESET] to start presetting.
  4. To cancel, press the Stop [■] button.

Manual presetting

  1. Press [RADIO] to select “FM or AM”.

  3. Press [PROGRAM].
  4. Press the numeric buttons to select a preset number.
  5. Do steps 1 through 4 again to preset more stations. The new station replaces any station that occupies the same preset number.

Changing the stations stored under [1] to [5]

Channel 1 to 5 will be set as the favorite stations under [FAVORITE] [1] to [5].

  1. While listening to a station press and hold one of the 1 - 5 buttons until "P1, P2, P3, P4 or P5"" appears on the display.

When you change the stations stored under [1] to [5], channel 1 to 5 are also changed to the same corresponding stations.

Checking the signal status

  1. Press DISPLAY
    FM ---- The FM signal is weak. The system is not tuned in to a station.
    FM ST The FM signal is in Stereo.
    FM MONO "MONO" is selected as the "FM MODE". The FM signal is in monaural.
.

FM allocation setting
This system can also receive FM broadcasts allocated in 0.1 MHz steps.

  1. Press RADIO.
  2. Press and hold SELECTOR on the main unit.
    After a few seconds, the display panel shows the current minimum radio frequency. Release the button when the minimum frequency changes.
    • To go back to the initial setting, do the above steps again.
    • Preset frequencies are erased after you change the setting.

Presetting stations automatically

  1. Press the [RADIO] button to select "FM".
  2. Press [RADIO MENU] to select “A.PRESET”.
  3. Press the arrow right ► or left ◄ to select “LOWEST” or “CURRENT” and then press [OK].
    • LOWEST: To begin auto preset with the lowest frequency.
    • CURRENT: To begin auto preset with the current frequency.
  4. The tuner starts to preset all the stations it can receive into the channels in ascending order.
  5. To cancel, press the Stop [■] button.

Presetting Stations Manually

  1. While listening to a station press [PGM].
  2. Press the numeric buttons to select a preset number.

Do steps 1 through 2 again to preset more stations.

A station previously stored is overwritten when another station is stored in the same channel preset.
